Holgate Toys has been in the business of manufacturing quality, safe, durable wooden toys since 1789.

After the Civil War Holgate moved to Pennsylvania to be near the hardwood forests. In 1929 the Holgagte company expanded its product line by making educational pre-school wooden toys.

Jarvis Rockwell, brother of Norman Rockwell, was an early toy designer for the company. Jarvis Rockwell was recognized as one of America's premier toy designers of the period for his concern for safety, durability and educational play.

Holgate Toys still makes the finest wooden toys in America. The Holgate factory is now in Bradford, Pennsylvania, right in the middle of America's premier hardwood forest.
